Job Description

A key accounts manager in the used car industry is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of dealerships to drive business growth for a company that serves them, such as a digital marketplace or auction platform. Their duties include acquiring new dealers, generating revenue, resolving issues, and ensuring the dealers are successfully using the platform’s services. This role is heavily focused on field sales, relationship management, and achieving sales targets. 

Key responsibilities

  • Dealer acquisition: Identify, acquire, and onboard new used car dealerships in a specific region.
  • Relationship management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key dealership accounts.
  • Revenue and sales: Drive business growth by ensuring dealers are active on the platform, which includes cross-selling services and ensuring timely revenue collection.
  • Performance and targets: Achieve daily and monthly targets related to dealer participation, sales, and revenue.
  • Issue resolution: Act as the main point of contact for dealers to resolve operational challenges and address grievances.
  • Market insight: Identify market opportunities and provide feedback for service and product improvements.
